Alliance Events

To be informed about what's happening, sign up for our monthly newsletter! Email swva@braverangels.org to be added. Also visit our meetup page. Events are free, but donations do help this movement grow and we sure appreciate them.

This Month, please join us for one or both of the following post-election community service projects. Everyone from across the political spectrum is encouraged to come and work side by side together to show that our humanity and shared community come before our political allegiance.

Wednesday, November 20th 9:30-1pm BA:SWVA and Adopt an Inmate invite you to join us for a Post-Election Community Service Event!

We will be opening, sorting and coding a large backlog of mail from inmates so they can be matched with a volunteer. Research shows that contact with someone outside prison before release leads to a higher rate of success on release. As you will be reading the letters, you will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Location: United Way of Lane County

3171 Gateway Loop Springfield, OR 97477

Saturday, November 23rd 9:30-1pm BA:SWVA and FOOD for Lane County Youth Farm invite you to join us for a Post-Election Community Service Event!

Volunteers will be helping to plant cover crops, remove summer plants and potentially working in grow tunnels for early spring planting. The Farm will have all the tools needed for the projects. Come rain or shine.

Monthly Structured Event

Most months we hold a skills training or bridging event. Check our schedule below or meetup page for current happenings.

For these events we usually ask that you register online so we can be better prepared.

In addition to these regular events, we also have many annual and occasional special events. Things like public input meetings (so people who are not on the steering committee can be more engaged), participating in the 4th of July celebration at the Creswell Parade, our August picnic, film and discussion nights, etc...

As we continue to grow, we plan to be more involved with local politics by holding candidate forums, discussions about measures, and assemblies focused on resolving controversial issues relevant to our local community. Together, the sky is the limit.

The magic of the BA model is that while addressing important political issues, we also get to know one another and build relationships in the process. The community we long for is born from our care for one another.

Below is a list of all our upcoming events:
