Southern Willamette Valley Alliance

Braver Angels: Southern Willamette Valley Alliance is a chapter of the National Braver Angels organization. We are working in our local community (Eugene, Springfield, and the surrounding areas of Lane County and beyond) to bring people of different political perspectives together for communication workshops, discussions, and public presentations designed to bridge the polarizing political divide we experience in our country. These events allow conservatives and liberals to move past the destructive stereotypes so we can better understand one another and problem-solve real issues. We hope you will join us!

Upcoming Events

2nd Tuesday of each month (Dec 9, Jan 13, Feb 10, etc) Time: 6-7:30 pm The Oakshire “Talking Politics” Meetup (Monthly)

We will divide into pairs and have three 20-minute, topic-focused conversations, followed by unstructured social time. You will find your Braver Angels hosts at a table outside.

Monthly Alliance Meetings

Most months we hold an "alliance meeting" which is open to all. 6-7:30pm, with snack and social time afterward.

Get together to talk about what we are up to and how to be a better Braver Angel.

Planning Meetings

Our 10-person evenly balanced red/blue steering committee meets in West Eugene on 1st and 3rd Fridays from 1-2:30pm.

In addition to these regular events, we also periodically hold skills training workshops and other gatherings such as participating in the 4th of July celebration at the Creswell Parade, our August picnic, film and discussion nights, etc...

As we continue to grow, we plan to be more involved with local politics focused on resolving controversial issues relevant to our local community.

The magic of the BA model is that while addressing important political issues, we also get to know one another and build relationships in the process. The community we long for is born from our care for one another.
