Southern Willamette Valley Alliance

Braver Angels: Southern Willamette Valley Alliance is a chapter of the National Braver Angels organization. We are working in our local community of Eugene, Springfield, and the surrounding areas of Lane County, to bring people of different political perspectives together for communication workshops, discussions, and public presentations designed to bridge the polarizing political divide we experience in our country. These events allow conservatives and liberals to move past the destructive stereotypes so we can better understand one another and problem-solve real issues. We hope you will join us!

Creswell Independence Day Celebration

Please join us for the parade from 11 am until 2 pm, and help us table at our booth in Holt Park between 10 am and 4 pm. Your participation in this outreach effort would be much appreciated! Email lukeg@braverangels.org to join in the fun.

Braver Angels Ladies Lunch Bunch

Reaching out to ladies to try out different venues together! By connecting over lunch, we are looking for a fun and lighthearted time of friendly sharing, the Braver Angels way!

The Oakshire “Talking Politics” Meetup

We will divide into pairs and have three 20-minute, topic-focused conversations, followed by unstructured social time. You will find your Braver Angels hosts at a table outside.

Courageous Political Conversations - Engaging those with whom we disagree

Group sharing circles and other activities designed to help people with differing views to deepen understanding, find common ground, and build relationships around political topics. This month's topic, from the Braver Angels principles. "We Treat People Who Disagree with Us With Honesty, Dignity and Respect". Let's see how we can turn this principle into personal action!

Workshops and Meetings

Most 4th Thursdays of the month at 6-8pm we hold a workshop, "alliance meeting", or other activitiy which is open to all.

Planning Meetings

Our 12-person evenly balanced red/blue steering committee meets in West Eugene on 1st and 3rd Fridays from 1-2:30pm.

In addition to these regularly scheduled events, there are many other things to participate in. Some examples include the 4th of July celebration at the Creswell Parade, our August picnic, film and discussion nights, etc... As we continue to grow, we plan to be more involved with local politics focused on resolving controversial issues relevant to our local community.

The magic of the BA model is that while addressing important political issues, we also get to know one another and build relationships in the process. The community we long for is born from our care for one another.
